Your Business’s Beneficial Ownership Information Report Due January 1, 2025

For most small businesses, the deadline to file the Beneficial Ownership Information Report with the Department of the Treasury is January 1, 2025, in order to comply with the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA). The CTA exists to reduce, or even extinguish, illicit financial activity. The Act went into effect on January 1, 2024, but only companies created or registered to do business in the US before January 1, 2024, have until January 1, 2025, to file initial reports. FMCSA Simplifies Requirements for Young Drivers

FMCSA has removed some road blocks for Motor Carriers using the Safe Driver Apprenticeship Pilot (SDAP) Program. FMCSA announced they are no longer requiring an inward facing camera for these young drivers. The special Registered Apprenticeship (RA) program code number generated through the U.S. Department of Labor is also no longer required. FMCSA is hopeful that the program will be more enticing for Motor Carriers to use.

FMCSA Proposes to Remove more than 15,700 Medical Examiners from National Registry for Noncompliance

According to the Federal Register proposal, medical examiners (ME’s) who failed to login to their federal account and update all information by February 23, 2024, should be removed from the National Registry. Since June 2018, FMCSA attempted to notify all MEs on the Federal Registry, through email, physical mailings, and phone calls, about the requirement to either access their account or create a login to login.gov and update all relevant information.
