Business Development Intern

Our Business Development Interns are an integral part of generating and implementing new business. This position will pursue new business opportunities, present proposals and close sales. You’ll gain experience in business to business sales, grow your professional skills and expand your knowledge of insurance.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Prospect and sell new business accounts
  • Gather prospect data and prepare underwriting submissions
  • Design insurance programs for new accounts
  • Prepare and deliver proposals
  • Attend Account Executive Group meetings
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with insurance company representatives and clients
  • Explain coverages of all insurance companies being presented to prospects
  • Set personal and professional development goals and work to achieve those through education, experience and mentorship

Requirements & Skills

  • College student interested in working in business
  • Self-directed and highly organized with timely follow-ups
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness to learn
  • Desire to work proactively

Additional Information

  • Up to 40 hours per week during the summer
  • Work remotely from home town

  • $5,000 salary plus commission
