What You’ll Do: About the Position
The Accounting Associate (Accounts Receivable) serves a vital role within the Agency by
providing detailed and accurate administration of billing and receivable processes. As a
member of the Finance Team, you will work closely with other Accounting Associates to
fully support agents, account managers, and clients with billing-related needs.
This position is responsible for completing tasks related to the full billing cycle of Agency
clients, such as:
- Create invoices for billing of insurance premiums and endorsements
- Process, deposit, and record incoming payments including checks, wire transfers,
and electronic payments - Respond to client and team member inquiries regarding billing, payment status, and
account balances with a helpful attitude - Investigate and resolve discrepancies between client payments and accounts
receivable records - Follow up on outstanding payments with clients and team members
- Perform other financial activities and ad hoc projects as needed
- Cross-train and provide backup coverage for other Accounting Associates
What You’ll Bring: Competencies
- 1-3 years of experience in Accounts Receivable or similar role
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- You like technology and can quickly learn new software systems
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- High degree of attention to detail
- Strong analytic abilities and vigilant in checking for errors and inaccuracies
- Outstanding customer service skills with the ability to communicate professionally
- and effectively with clients and team members
- Understanding of basic accounting principles
- Able to handle confidential information with the highest level of integrity
Helpful Additional Skills:
- Prior insurance agency experience
- AMS 360/Vertafore or other insurance software experience
