What You’ll Do: About the Position

The Accounting Associate (Accounts Receivable) serves a vital role within the Agency by
providing detailed and accurate administration of billing and receivable processes. As a
member of the Finance Team, you will work closely with other Accounting Associates to
fully support agents, account managers, and clients with billing-related needs.
This position is responsible for completing tasks related to the full billing cycle of Agency
clients, such as:

  • Create invoices for billing of insurance premiums and endorsements
  • Process, deposit, and record incoming payments including checks, wire transfers,
    and electronic payments
  • Respond to client and team member inquiries regarding billing, payment status, and
    account balances with a helpful attitude
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies between client payments and accounts
    receivable records
  • Follow up on outstanding payments with clients and team members
  • Perform other financial activities and ad hoc projects as needed
  • Cross-train and provide backup coverage for other Accounting Associates

What You’ll Bring: Competencies

  • 1-3 years of experience in Accounts Receivable or similar role
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • You like technology and can quickly learn new software systems
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • High degree of attention to detail
  • Strong analytic abilities and vigilant in checking for errors and inaccuracies
  • Outstanding customer service skills with the ability to communicate professionally
  • and effectively with clients and team members
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles
  • Able to handle confidential information with the highest level of integrity

Helpful Additional Skills:

  • Prior insurance agency experience
  • AMS 360/Vertafore or other insurance software experience
